House rules

Parking:  There is a private parking space at the rear of the property. Please park considerately and do not block other residents access to the communal lane at the rear of the property. Please note that the owners cannot accept responsibility for damage to your vehicle when parked at Old Salt Cottage.

Occupancy:  The maximum occupancy of Old Salt Cottage is four people and two dogs. We reserve the right to terminate your stay with no refund if you have more than this staying at the cottage.

Services: We cannot be held liable if services (water/electricity/internet) in the cottage fail. However, please inform us if there is a problem and we'll report it to the supplier to get it rectified as quickly as possible.

Smoking and candles:  Smoking or vaping is not permitted in Old Salt Cottage. We do not permit the use of candles.

Children/safety/accessibility:  Small children are welcome at Old Salt Cottage but please be aware that the stairs are quite steep and there is no baby gate installed in the property. No cot is provided in the cottage. Please note, for ease of moving furniture, the bedroom drawer units are not fixed to the walls.

Old Salt Cottage is not wheelchair accessible and the narrow/steep stairs and small WC may not be suitable for those with limited mobility. Guests at Old Salt Cottage must accept responsibility for their own and their children's safety; the owners cannot be held responsible for injuries.

Dogs:  Old Salt Cottage is dog-friendly but we ask that you bring no more than two dogs with you, they have their own suitable bedding, are not allowed on the furniture and are not left unattended at the property at any time. Please also ensure that you pick up after your dog if they toilet in the front garden or back lane. As the cottage is dog-friendly it may not be suitable for those who are allergic to dogs. If there's any additional cleaning required as a result of dog hair or mess at the end of your stay, we may need to charge you for this.

Care of the property: We work hard to ensure that Old Salt Cottage is in great condition for your stay. Please treat the cottage with care and leave it in the state you found it. We thoroughly clean the cottage between bookings, but it would be appreciated if you could leave bins empty and return all furniture to its original position before you leave the cottage. Please report any damage or breakages as soon as possible so we can organise repairs or replacements. Occasional breakages of small items (glasses/crockery) is to be expected, but guests are responsible for paying for all damage or breakages to larger items. We ask that you show courtesy to the neighbours of Old Salt Cottage during your stay, particularly in terms of noise and parking.

Check-in/check-out: Check-in is 3pm and check out is 11am. Early check-in or late check-out may be permitted with prior arrangement but will be dependent upon other bookings so may not be feasible.

Upon check-out, please leave all doors and windows locked, and the key securely in the key safe. There will be a £50.00 charge for any keys not returned at the end of your holiday.
